Please note our recreational league is volunteer-based. The cost for the season is kept to a minimal fee, and the emphasis is on fun. If you are looking for development led by professional coaches with a greater commitment, please review our travel program. Players may also have supplemental skill development led by professional coaches through our Rec Skills Clinics during the season.

FALL SEASON CALENDAR
AGES: Open to players U4-U19 (Birth years 2003-2018). Please see the chart at the bottom of the page for each age group aligned by birth year.
COST: $150 per player. Late registration begins July 25th with an additional $25 fee ($175 for full registration, or $75 for registration with financial aid.)
DATES: First week of practices begin the week of August 29th; 1-2 trainings per week and games on 8 Saturdays.
FORMAT: League play for U11 and above; House format for U10 and below.
GAMES: Rain make-ups or House League divisions needing to play an extra game due to a bye week caused by an uneven number of teams will generally occur on Sundays. U11 and older (SFL) home games also will also mostly be on Saturdays, however some localities do schedule games on Sunday and rain makeups are on Sundays. It is also necessary for the SFL to occasionally schedule a team to play Sunday home games. Players need to be aware that some Sunday play is possible.
UNIFORMS:
FINANCIAL AID/COST: Players seeking financial aid (scholarships) must show proof of qualification. If you apply during online registration, players will be charged a reduced fee of $50 and must submit the appropriate documents. If they are not received, players will be charged the full balance before being allowed to participate. For information on the financial aid process and qualifications, click here.
EQUIPMENT: Shin guards are mandatory and all players should have a ball. Soccer cleats are not mandatory but are recommended.
COACHING: Volunteers to coach/assistant coach must register to coach online. Age Group Commissioners will contact volunteers selected to coach in early August. Coaches (or assistant or a team representative) will have a team meeting in mid-August.
Special requests in terms of a particular coach, friend to be on the same team with or day/time practice conflicts MUST BE NOTED ON YOUR REGISTRATION. We cannot guarantee we can honor your request, but will NOT accommodate any requests not noted on the form.
Coaches will contact players on their roster by August 21st.

NOTE ON REFUNDS FOR FALL SEASON: If you decide to cancel your registration before September 1, please contact registrar@herndonyouthsoccer.org to request a refund. All refunds issued will still be charged a $10 processing fee. Players who register on and after July 15th will be charged a $25 late fee and only placed if space is available. The late fee is not refundable unless we are unable to place the child on a team. No refunds will be given after September 1, 2022.
