2021 Charity Ball Game Fundraiser

 

Please join the Herndon travel soccer fundraiser on December 18, 2021 at Bready Park! The fundraising event is highlighted by soccer games vs. coaches and includes other opportunities for donations or fundraising (see below). Players and parents can register online to player soccer against Herndon's travel coaches--all proceeds to benefit the Player Development Fund. The Player Development Fund was established to raise money to help our players participate in a soccer event or opportunity beyond their financial reach.

FUNDRAISER GAME FORMAT
December 18: 1:00-3:00 PM

  • U9-U12 Coed Players vs Coaches: 1:00-1:20 PM
  • U13-U19 Coed Players vs Coaches: 1:30-1:50 PM
  • Parents Coed vs Coaches: 2:00-2:20 PM
  • Coaches vs Coaches: 2:30-2:50 PM

In order to play, you must register online and make a minimum donation of $10.00 as a player or a minimum donation of $20.00 as a parent, and you’ll be assigned a team in the appropriate age group. The first 20 players/parents who register are guaranteed to play. 


ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE WINNING COACH ANNOUNCED

The "winning" coach of the Ice Bucket Challenge will receive the prize of having a bucket of ice water dumped over their head following the soccer games. The Ice Bucket Challenge is a team fundraiser for the U15b Central team that allows participants to pay $1 per vote towards the coach they would like to see win ice water dumped over their head!, and will continue accepting votes until December 17. Here's how to get involved:

  1. Ask your team manager for a ticket
  2. Ask family and friends to donate $1 to earn “votes”
  3. For every dollar collected, you can place 1 vote for a Herndon coach that you would like to see given an ice bucket bath
  4. Return the ticket and any collected money to your team manager by December 17, 2021 The coach with the most votes wins!

HERNDON TEAM FUNDRAISING MERCHANDISE
We will have a tent set up for our travel teams to sell any of its fundraising items such as hats, scarves, water bottles, umbrellas, etc.

DONATIONS - RAFFLE

Every family's donation of a non-perishable food item will earn a raffle ticket for a chance to win great prizes! The food donations will be provided to our partner LINK Against Hunger. We will also collect donation items on behalf of the families displaced by the Park Avenue Apartment Fires (see below) and bring these items to the drop-off location.

Herndon Apartment Fire- Donations Needed
On Thursday evening (December 2), there was an apartment fire in Herndon. Eleven apartments were  deemed uninhabitable and displaced 44 residents. Fairfax Neighborhood and Community Services and Office for Emergency Management, the Red Cross, and Cornerstones have been assisting displaced residents. Donations of food and grocery store gift cards are currently the greatest need. All donations will go directly to the affected families and residents. Please keep these families in your thoughts, and consider donating essential items at the Herndon Police Department or Cornerstones.

  • Pajamas (Adult & Child)
  • Coats (Adult & Child)

The affected residents will need cash donations later for long term assistance when relocating the families.
