April 21, 2022 - Herndon Youth Soccer is thrilled to announce the club is joining the Virginia Premier Soccer League and will play in ECNL-Regional beginning in the 2022-23 season. Herndon’s top U11-U19 boys and girls teams will compete in ECNL-R Virginia North with opportunities for post-season advancement and in the Virginia State Cup through US Club Soccer.
This exciting news follows on the heels of Herndon’s recently announced membership in VDA (Virginia Development Academy). VDA is a collaboration between three member clubs—VSA, PWSI and now Herndon—to provide the highest level of competition for their players in elite development through ECNL league play.
"We are honored to become a part of VPSL and accepted to compete in ECNL Regional. Herndon now has a clear pathway for development at every level in youth soccer, and we are proud to offer our teams increasingly higher levels of competition in ECNL-R with more localized travel that minimizes the costs to our families,” said Herndon Technical Director Nick Arzani. “Also, programs such as ID2 and Players First--offered by US Club Soccer-- are welcomed resources we are excited to bring back to our club.”
Over the past year, Herndon has been laser-focused on building opportunities for developmental to elite play for all boys and girls players. Through strategic partnerships and league affiliations, the club is excited to present the best youth soccer program for the Herndon community.
Tryouts for Herndon Youth Soccer travel teams will begin in early May. The schedule and registration can be found here: https://
Herndon’s pathway for development builds on a strong recreational league that begins at U4, followed by the Pre-Travel Academy, and culminates into the following travel leagues for various competitive levels and stages of development: CCL Next Gen, The National League, NCSL, ECNL-Regional and ECNL through our partnership to VDA for elite player development. In addition to league play, Herndon now offers competition in the Virginia State Cup of US Club Soccer and in the VYSA State Cup and President's Cup of US Youth Soccer.
